Welcome to Polymer Clay Academy!
The content in the academy is structured so you can start with the first video and work your way through to the last one, or you can pick and choose which video to watch based on where you are in your journey.

HOWEVER: we caution you to drop your assumptions about what you think you know!

For example, for many years we would do a technique called "partial bake," this means baking the clay for about 10 minutes to firm it up so you could continue with a sculpture or add more to it without damaging the shape. LOADS of people did this (and still do!) without realizing that the REAL damage comes later. We had a discussion with the chemists at Sculpey, who advised us that partial baking permanently ruins your clay from the inside out. It doesn't allow the clay to cure properly, and over time the whole piece will crack and fall apart. They advised us that every time you bake the clay, you must do it for the entire time and temperature required for curing.

We, having used clay for at least 20 years by that point, did not know this fact. We had even been telling people to do it (of course now we don't, since we have the proper information!)

Now we believe that there is never a better time to continue learning new things! Even if you think you know it all, there is always something to learn. So take the time to watch all the videos and gain the confidence to go out there and clay your heart out!
